About Us
The Snyder County Historical Society preserves the heritage and culture of Snyder County through research archives and educational events.
Incorporated in 1898, the Society assists students and others who are interested in the area with historical research.
Meetings: Normally fourth Tuesday of March, May, September and November, 7:30 pm in Fisher Auditorium (second floor of library/museum)
Dues: $200 life, $20 annual, $10 junior (through high school)
Equipment: Photocopier, 25 cents per page, one side; 40 per page, two sides; microfilm reader; microfilm copier/reader, 50 cents per page.
Research: Library staff can do research for $20 per name or subject, payable in advance.
Library Holdings: Genealogies, local histories, church records, pastoral records, microfilm records of The Middleburg Post, Beaver Springs Weekly Herald, The Mifflinburg Telegraph, McClure Plain Dealer, Selinsgrove Times and Tribune, The Sunbury Daily Item, Snyder County Times, and the Freeburg Courier, and microfilms of US Census records for Snyder, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry, Northumberland, and Union Counties.
